Pc-Check Windows Battery Charge Level Test Failure Information

Group Number 610X

Device Battery

This is a test group for testing system batteries capable of running the system without AC power. The group has been designed to test the charging circuit and battery device attached to the system but does not test external uninterruptible power supplies.

Test Number 310

Charge Level

The Charge Level test checks the Battery charge. This test will fail if the power adaptor is not connected. If the charge level is within the configured parameters, this test will pass. If the charge level is outside of the configured parameters, the battery charge will be checked according to the retry parameter, with a 10 second delay between each attempt.

Estimated Test Time Dependant on the charge level and retries configured.

PARAM6: Maximum Retries

Number of retry attempts if charge is outside of parameters.

PARAM7: Minimum Charge

Minimum Charge or Capacity in percent.

PARAM8: Maximum Charge

Maximum Charge in percent.

PARAM10: Charge Cycles Lower Threshold

Lower Cycle Range.

PARAM11: Charge Cycles Upper Threshold

Upper Cycle Range.

ERRORCODES & TROUBLESHOOTING

Battery charge is over 95%. CODE=0x00/003

TROUBLESHOOTING0: The battery in it's current charge state is not suitable for testing as it is required to be between 10 and 95%. The battery should be charged or discharged as required prior to test execution.

Battery charge is under 10%. CODE=0x01/003

TROUBLESHOOTING0: The battery in it's current charge state is not suitable for testing as it is required to be between 10 and 95%. The battery should be charged or discharged as required prior to test execution.

Battery charge has failed to discharge during the test. CODE=0x02/3FF

TROUBLESHOOTING1: Potential general battery failure. It is advisable to review your test settings as newer systems require longer discharge times. The system battery may require being less than default value especially if it is a tablet.

TROUBLESHOOTING5: This may occur due to a windows driver (Battery or Charging circuitry) related issue or malfunction in the electronics in the battery or the charging circuit.

Battery voltage is outside the range of test settings. CODE=0x03/3FF

Unable to find a battery to test. CODE=0x04/3FF

Battery charge or discharge state detected as incorrect. CODE=0x05/3FF

Battery is not detected as rechargeable. CODE=0x06/3FF

Timed out detecting removal or insertion of ac adapter. CODE=0x07/3FF

TROUBLESHOOTING2: Timed out awaiting a response from the user. This could mean that the system does not support detection of the AC Adapter.

Unable to retrieve the battery charge rate. CODE=0x08/3FF

TROUBLESHOOTING1: Potential general battery failure. It is advisable to review your test settings as newer systems require longer discharge times. The system battery may require being less than default value especially if it is a tablet.

TROUBLESHOOTING3: On older systems there is potential that the charge or discharge reading is invalid or not supported.

TROUBLESHOOTING5: This may occur due to a windows driver (Battery or Charging circuitry) related issue or malfunction in the electronics in the battery or the charging circuit.

Unable to retrieve the battery state. CODE=0x09/3FF

Battery charge is over 95% after 5 minutes of testing. CODE=0x0A/3FF

TROUBLESHOOTING0: The battery in it's current charge state is not suitable for testing as it is required to be between 10 and 95%. The battery should be charged or discharged as required prior to test execution.
