Issue:

When using the Pc-Check diagnostic tool from a UEFI USB drive, SSD and NVMe drives are not recognized during hardware tests, resulting in storage-related diagnostics being unavailable or skipped.

Cause:

The drives are configured to run on the iRST/VMD Controller in the BIOS settings. When configured this way, the drives are only testable as Simple Block Devices and may not be fully detected by the diagnostic tool.

Resolution:

  • Reconfigure the BIOS settings to set the storage controller mode to AHCI instead of iRST/VMD.
  • After changing to AHCI mode, reboot the system and run the Pc-Check diagnostics again to verify that SSD and NVMe drives are detected and testable.
