Context : PC Builder
“Feature” == a Bill-of-Material item in your ERP for the computer system that is being tested. A “Feature” may or may not have multiple “Components” that contain actual asset data that is being used in PC Builder.
PC Builder is independent of your ERP system and has no knowledge of how your Bill-of-Materials are structured in your ERP system. Therefore, for each of the relevant Bill-Of-Materials items, a structure corresponding to that item must be defined in pcbStudio application.
PC Builder can detect active electronic parts that declare themselves to be part of a computer system, most of the computer parts
It can't detect parts that are passive or disabled, and it can't detect components that don't declare themselves to the computer system.
Not all items in ERP system are active electronics parts that declare themselves to the computer system.
An active electronics part installed in a computer system might be a composite part that combines multiple functionality together. At the time when this document was prepared, almost all computer parts are composite computer parts, rather than a single function computer parts.

- a graphics card has both video and integrated audio parts,
- a CPU has amd integrated graphics card which in turn has an integrated audio part,
- a motherboard has numerous integrated active parts like network cards, USB controllers, storage controllers, fan controllers, in addition, some motherboard parts come with add-on cards like Wi-Fi, RGB controllers and so on. all these distinct active electronics part are embedded and sold as a single package, corresponding to a single Bill-of-Materilas item in ERP system
